The HP JetDirect EX Plus Ethernet print server is an external network interface for mixed-LAN environments and supports all major network operating systems for Ethernet networks. It turns a Hewlett-Packard parallel-port printer into a highly-effective network printer. This print server supports virtually any HP or non-HP printer with a parallel port. (Except GDI printers or HP DeskJet 710, 720, 820, and 1000 printers and HP LaserJet 3100xi Printer-Fax-Copier-Scanner). HP JetDirect servers eliminate the PC parallel port bottleneck. They let you connect HP network-ready printers and plotters directly to your network, to take advantage of full network speed. Print jobs are transferred in LAN-size packets at network speeds, thus maximizing print throughput
